Emergency Medical Up to $10,000,000
Trip Cancellation & Trip Interruption Cancellation & Interruption Combined Amount:
  • Single-Trip Plan – up to sum purchased per insured per trip
  • Single-Trip All-Inclusive Plan – up to $6,000 per insured per trip
  • Multi-Trip All-Inclusive Plans – up to $6,000 per insured per trip to a maximum of $9,000 per policy year
Baggage Loss or DamageUp to $1,000 per trip. For Multi-Trip All Inclusive Plan, up to $3,000 per policy year
Baggage Delay Up to $500 per trip. For Multi-Trip All Inclusive Plan, up to $1,500 per policy year
Flight Accident$100,000 for death or double dismemberment, or $50,000 for single dismemberment
Travel Accident $50,000 for death or double dismemberment, or $25,000 for single dismemberment
Acts of Terrorism Coverage applicable to Emergency Medical, Trip Cancellation & Trip Interruption Overall maximum for all policies issued by us shall be:
  • Emergency Medical is $35 million, per act of terrorism, for up to 2 acts of terrorism within a calendar year
  • Trip Cancellation & Trip Interruption is $2.5 million, per act of terrorism, for up to 2 acts of terrorism within a calendar year

Please note: For all plans, if the covered expense results from an act of terrorism, all benefit maximums shown may be reduced subject to the Terrorism Coverage provision in the policy.

Single-Trip Emergency Medical & Travel Canada On the later of:
  • the departure date;
  • the effective date as shown on the confirmation.
For Travel Canada, on the earliest of:
  • the date the policyholder leaves Canada;
  • the expiry date as stated on the confirmation;
  • the date the policyholder returns home.

For Single Trip Emergency Medical plans, on the earlier of:
  • the date the policyholder returns home;
  • the expiry date, as stated on the confirmation.
Single-Trip
All-Inclusive
Trip Cancellation coverage, on the date the policyholder pays the premium for this coverage.

For all other coverages, on the later of:
  • the departure date;
  • the effective date as shown on the confirmation
Trip Cancellation coverage, on the earlier of:
  • the departure date;
  • the date the policyholder cancels their trip.

For all other coverages, on the earlier of:
  • the date the policyholder returns home;
  • the expiry date, as stated on the confirmation.
Multi-Trip Emergency Medical On the later of:
  • the effective date as shown on the confirmation;
  • each date the policyholder leaves their province or territory of residence; and each date they leave Canada
On the earliest of:
  • the date the policyholder returns home;
  • the expiry date, as stated on the confirmation;
  • when travelling outside Canada, the date the policyholder reaches the maximum number of days permitted for each trip, as shown on the confirmation.
Multi-Trip
All-Inclusive
Trip Cancellation coverage, on the later of:
  • the effective date as shown on the confirmation;
  • the date the policyholder purchased their trip.

For all other coverages, on the later of:
  • the effective date as shown on the confirmation;
  • each date the policyholder leaves their province or territory of residence; and each date they leave Canada
Trip Cancellation coverage, ends on the earlier of:
  • the departure date;
  • the date the policyholder cancels their trip.

For all other coverages, on the earliest of:
  • the date the policyholder returns home;
  • the expiry date, as stated on the confirmation;
  • when travelling outside Canada, the date the policyholder reaches the maximum number of days permitted for each trip, as shown on the confirmation.
Trip Cancellation/Interruption Trip Cancellation coverage, on the date the policyholder pays the premium for this coverage. On the earlier of:
  • the departure date;
  • the date the policyholder cancels their trip.
Top-Ups On the effective date as shown on the confirmation. On the earlier of:
  • the date the policyholder returns home;
  • the expiry date, as stated on the confirmation.

Refunds and Extensions

Refunds

You may cancel this insurance at any time before its effective date.

If you return home early, you can apply for a refund of the premium for the unused coverage providing there has been no claim reported or initiated against the policy, no assistance service has been provided and you have mailed your written refund request within 5 days of your return along with proof of the date you actually returned home.

All travellers insured under the same policy must return together for a refund to be possible.

Refunds and Cancellations are not permitted on the Trip Cancellation & Trip Interruption, All-Inclusive and Multi-Trip All-Inclusive plans.

Extensions

Extensions are available if, at the time you apply for an extension, you have not had an event that resulted in or may result in a claim against the policy and there has been no event that has resulted or may result in a claim against the policy, there has been no change in your health status, and if your trip, including the extension, does not exceed 183 days (212 days for residents of Ontario or Newfoundland).
