Emergency Medical Top-Up

If you have a CoverMe Multi-Trip plan and are planning on travelling for longer than the coverage provided in your Multi-Trip plan, you can top up your coverage.

  • Top-Up coverage must be purchased prior to the expiry date and is subject to an extra premium charge
  • The Single-Trip Emergency Medical Plan is used to top up a Manulife Financial Multi-Trip plan or plans of other insurers, provided that the entire trip, including the top-up period, is not longer than 183 days (212 days for residents of Ontario or Newfoundland)
  • It is your responsibility to confirm that top-up is permitted on your existing plan with no loss of coverage
  • If you are age 55 or older, the Medical Questionnaire must be completed

Note: If a trip begins during the coverage period of your Multi-Trip plan but will extend beyond the expiry date, you can purchase top-up coverage for any travel days that fall after the expiry date or you can purchase a new CoverMe Travel Insurance Multi-Trip plan for the next 365-day period as long as the total duration of the trip does not exceed the maximum trip-length you chose when you purchased the Multi-Trip plan.
